The Potato Leadership, Education, and Advancement foundation is working to become the long-term funding source to support leadership development, educational programs, and other efforts to advance the potato industry in the United States.
Through the Founders Society Capital Campaign the goal is to establish a $2-million dollar Legacy Fund to support industry programs.
Individuals and businesses can pledge to become members of the Founders Society through December 31, 2020 and fulfill their pledge through December 31, 2023.

Growers will learn how to become effective communicators, influencers, and decision-makers for the industry.
Growers will broaden their understanding of the key opportunities, practices, and challenges affecting national potato production.
Growers will build their industry network through unique opportunities for collaboration with grower-leaders from across the country.
The Potato Leadership, Education and Advancement Foundation (Potato LEAF) will award a $10,000 academic scholarship to one graduate-level student conducting research for the benefit of the potato industry. The winner is selected based on a number of criteria, including academic achievement, leadership abilities, potato-related areas of graduate study, benefit to the U.S. potato industry/commercial value, extracurricular activities, and grades.

The Potato Industry Leadership Institute brings together outstanding potato growers and industry representatives for eight days of training and professional development. The annual program will be held February 18-25, 2021 with activities in both Bakersfield, CA and Washington, D.C.
Participants will receive an overview of the local and national potato industry, including some of the challenges and issues beyond the production sector along with tours of local agricultural businesses.
Attendees will then fly to Washington, D.C, and heard from public policy and communication experts and practice how to effectively deliver key messages. Participants join other growers from their state to educate members of Congress on the U.S. potato industry and policies impacting it.

The Leadership Institute Alumni Summit will bring together Institute graduates to network, refresh skills, and learn new techniques to better position themselves for success in the potato industry.
All past graduates of the Institute are invited to participate in the three 90-minute workshops that will be active, engaging, fast-paced, high energy and packed with tips to put to use immediately.
Registration for the program will open in March 2021.
