The potato industry Leadership Institute brings together outstanding potato growers and industry representatives for eight training and professional development days. The annual program is held in February and includes activities in a potato-growing region and Washington, D.C.
Participants will receive an overview of the local and national potato industry, including some of the challenges and issues beyond the production sector and tours of local agricultural businesses.
The 2025 Leadership Institute will be held February 19-28, 2025 beginning in the state of Wisconsin and ending in Washington, D.C.
Participation is limited to individuals residing in the United States.
Applications are being accepted through October 18, 2024 - for the 2025 program.

Gettysburg, PA
The Leadership in the Field: From Battlefield to Potato Field experience will offer unique opportunities that utilize the resources of America’s most revered battlefield to help facilitate experiential teaching and support effective leadership development.
At Gettysburg, ordinary people were asked to do extraordinary things.
Character, communication, team building, humility, flexibility, resilience, strategic or visionary thinking, problem-solving under pressure, and accountability are just a few of the many lessons for which experiential learning at Gettysburg is effective.
The application period is now closed.
The Potato Leadership, Education and Advancement Foundation (Potato LEAF) will award a $10,000 academic scholarship to one graduate-level student who is researching to benefit the potato industry. The winner is selected based on several criteria, including academic achievement, leadership abilities, potato-related areas of graduate study, benefit to the U.S. potato industry/commercial value, extracurricular activities, and grades.
The 2024 application period has closed.
Information on the 2025 application period will be available in April 2025.

Growers will learn how to become effective communicators, influencers, and decision-makers for the industry.
Growers will broaden their understanding of the key opportunities, practices, and challenges affecting national potato production.
Growers will build their industry network through unique opportunities for collaboration with grower-leaders from across the country.
